Definition of feelings

Feelings are emotions that we experience in different situations. They tell us how we feel inside. For example, when something good happens, we feel happy. When something bad happens, we might feel sad or angry. Here are some common feelings and what they mean:

  • Happy: When you feel good and smile because something nice happened.
  • Sad: When you feel bad and maybe want to cry.
  • Angry: When something makes you mad or upset.
  • Scared: When you feel afraid or think something bad might happen.
  • Excited: When you feel very happy because something good is going to happen.
  • Nervous: When you feel worried or unsure about something.
  • Proud: When you feel good because you did something well.
  • Tired: When you have no energy and just want to rest.

Why is understanding feelings important for nurses?

Feelings are important because they help us understand what we need or how we should react. Nurses often need to understand people’s feelings to give the best care. They also need to talk about their own feelings with others.
